About the Author
Becoming a writer was an inevitability for me. I have so much to say. As a small child, I was taught that my voice was irrelevant. Children are meant to be seen, not heard. So I disappeared into the pages of my favorite novels. I dove into worlds where I had a voice. I built a universe in which everyone had a voice, no matter how small—everyone mattered. I was eight years old when I started writing my first book in a sparkly pink pony notebook. It is not really eligible handwriting, but the dream is there, in the pencil marks faded with time, in the little girl who dared to dream of a world where she would be heard. As a woman who has experienced sexism in a world that we're told is "basically equal," I want to write stories that matter.
It is my unending hope that my writing can one day inspire change, thought, or the next writer like me into believing that their voice is relevant. I'm deeply passionate about unraveling the many layers of the patriarchy that are woven into our very thought processes.
